Clean your room or you can't have your friend over! Clean your room or you can't go to the movies. Clean your room! Sometimes it's done in a rush, sometimes with very deliberate strategies. There are always piles SOMEWHERE. Sometimes these piles involve wet clothes, old food and forgotten sippies of milk - EWWW.
A few of these discoveries were recently made after a flurry of cleaning in order to go to the zoo with friends. I'm talking the children, not me. Yes, on the surface the rooms looked great. Tidy, able to get through the floor - LET'S GO!
Grab your stuff, rush out the door, drop them at the friend's house so they can go to the zoo. Five hours of peace. Days later while on a conference call I was doing my usual fidgiting and cleaning when I discovered the piles of smelly items which included:
- part of a cheese stick
- smooshed strawberry
- wet, muddy, mildewed clothes
- old sippy on its side of what used to be milk.
What led met to these treasures you may ask... I followed my nose. I almost gagged and would have needed a stain remover to go with the smell remover. As it was, Anti Icky Poo was enough to get the stink out and where the milk was, and I did decide the Anti-Icky-Poo stain remover for good measure under the strawberry. Now their rooms were truly clean.
